Would I be right in saying, that as well as the wheel nuts, there's a big nut in the centre of the wheel that needs removing ? About 36mm diameter ? smile

Dont forget!!! Do not jack the car up on one side unless you want to de-laminate your screen!
central jacking only.

And if you did manage to undo the central nut at the front, do it back up good and tight! (70 -80 ftlb) or your wheel may fall apart at the hub.

Is that true? I generally jack mine up from the jacking point just behind the front wheel until I can get it high enough to get an axle stand in and then I can get the trolley jack under the front, otherwise it won't fit

Please elaborate. This post indicates jacking at the corners http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Cheers folks. Thought I was going mad trying to remove it. Just needed a good belting.

On the plus side, Kwik Fit, balance & Nitrogen fill for £8.25.

Also, bit late for me, but a customer spotted my tyres at work & told me of these people http://www.tyretraders.com/

I paid £128 for some Toyo's from Camskill & the above will supply & fit for £120

It can be scary when jacking the car up and hearing the body creaking even when jacking in the correct places. To solve this I brought some ramps.

They have a sleeve that fits over the ram to prevent them from collapsing.

As for axle stands simple drive up, raise vehicle stands under lower vehicle remove ramps or leave in place. Doesn't really matter.

They are from
Cj autos. Google search it. The only problem with the website it that you wallet will become lighter. They were
Close to £500 but the gf brought them for my birthday so was very happy.

For the Cerb do you need the 'lead on ramps' they sell for cars with less ground clearance?

http://www.cjautosheywood.co.uk/hyramp.html

Also, in the video, how did they drive the Triumph on to the ramps?

I haven't needed the extra helper ramps, they are long enough to get under the car onto the front of the tyres.

Reverse gear.
