Just picked car up after remap and cant believe how much better it feels. Anyone dithering on this, as I have for the last 3 years, dont. Mainly better pulling smoothly right through the rev range but just so chuffed. Drove home from having this done 170 miles and enjoyed so much drove past my house and did a quick 40 mile circuit the other side.

Mine drives like a dream, so tame at low revs and full of go when needed, I'd wondered if it had had a remap by a previous owner - how can I tell, any ideas? I've not got the short induction.

Example, 30mph in 5th is easily done and no hunting or shunting - although it sounds better in 2nd at that speed. The Chimaera in contrast is a right miserable bleeder when trying to go slow.

I've a spare 4.2 remap chip for sale......that also has the lower fan temp mod done

It was done by joolz at a cost of over £600.

It s good for 370 bhp on my old engine, that had a large bore sports pipes and the cam timing mod done.

My exhaust manifolds were badly cracked and the induction was standard.... If the induction had been ported and the manifolds repaired I reckon 380+ bhp would have been achievable ..... When joolz does a remap he writes on the chip the bhp and torque.. Mark it may be worth a look inside your ECU

Screwdriver job?

Is it only Joolz that does it? I'm guessing not.

Worth baring in mind that Joolz isn't VAT registered, makes a significant difference at 20%.

Well, yes and no. Location would be a big factor too. No point spending £150 on petrol to save £120's worth of vat wink

You could always ask the 911 driver this morning just how successful it was hehe

Short answer, yes. On its own a massive improvement in 'driveability' (made up word?), especially at low speed. Combined with the ACT (*other makes are available) short induction a jump in power to 426bhp

I believe some mappers use generic chips whilst the ones who really know what they are doing will 'live map' your car on a rolling road, to make it bespoke.
