Hi Guy's.

Ive been looking over the various threads on oil pump priming etc, and i was just wanted your advice on the following points:-

1, can i drain out the oil fill the new filter and then fill up with oil (im not planning to let it drain for hours which appears to be when people are needing to prime pumps etc)?
2, If i have to prime the pump how do i go about filling it with vasoline ?

I have always tinkered with her myself but have just left the regular services to my local indy, however she was stood for a year and although has only done 2k since the last service i would like to put in some fresh oil (something i have never done on a cerb)

Forgot to mention its an early 4.2 cerb, with the benefit of a Blackpool rebuild in 2001 with the new quiter cams etc.

Cheers

When you drain your oil down fill the new oil filter up with oil and have it ready to offer up, as soon as you unscrew the old one and you will be fine. No need to prim the pump up If you do it this way.

Can anyone clarify whether the V8F8990 filter from V8Filters.co.uk fits?

Thanks

Gave APM that filter to fit on last service, Andy said it wouldn't fit on mine, there was about 2mm clearance, but it does on others. Chassis were constantly changing throughout the production of the cerb, so maybe later cars have a better fit.

Does on mine, but I spaced the bracket out from the chassis with 2 nuts to allow clearance.
