I have noticed that many Cerbera's, have brown, heat worn, blue air intake pipes.

Does anyone know how to replace these, with some nice new ones, braided maybe ?

or just replace the worn out looking ones with new ones. current quote is £500 to replace and fit, which seems very expensice for 8 little plastic pipes.

I'm fairly sure I can fit them myself, its only a few clips, so supply only would be fine.

How about making up a set out of polished copper? Should be easy to bend using common plumbing tools, and would look like a church organ

(yes, my 4.2 does not suffer from this unsightlyness, just lots of others)

ah.. the lmfao was for the organ sounds .. soz if my appaulling use of the quotation tool messed it all up :sorry:

yup I know people who have made copper exhausts .. you're not advised to tho i think 'cos doesn't it give off some nasty gases (nastier than normal exhaust gas i mean) .. any chemists out there? .. but does sound nice and mellow

Joo, yup, copper gives off killer gases!

£500??? Thats not right, I'm pretty sure they're no more than a £100, and £25 for the clips???

But problem is, you cant use anything other than bendable shock-resistant materials to mate with the trumps, because the straight 4's on either side rumble and vibrate at different levels, you'll most likly damage your trumps with metal pipes.....

the purple pipes are 40 quid each, plus vat, and they come too long so you have to trim them down or they rub on the bonnet .. with the extr labour and the cutting and fitting it's a 500 pound job at the end

And we care about that? A 4.5 Cerbera is hardly the most environmentally-friendly car on the planet, is it?

Yikes! £500 smacks for just a bunch of pipes that go off after a few heated thrashes? thats daylight theft!

Joo, heres an opportunity, maybe you can design and get them built on low volume - new alternative set of pipes and some chrome jubilees that set us back no more than £150-200 notes instead? I'm sure there'll be plenty of interest.... maybe even different coloured ones? Cascade blue ones for me I'll put my order down yesterday!

That reminds me of mine then - i know the previous owner fitted some new ones...but the one nearest the windscreen looks to have split. This is due to rubbing on the bonnet.........any major downside???
Apart from slight lack of filtration! crack is very tiny though..

Heat from the engine will be going into the air intake... not a good idea, increases lag and frequency of flat spots.... plus she could be drinking more fuel than needed.... imho....
Get some heat resistant tape from halfords and fix it up.....
