Hi people. My oil/water dual gauge has totally stopped working! I am trying to remove it, i have the gauge lose(have nuts off the back. Do i just dissconect the capillary tube at the gauge? Then thread the water tube back through the dash? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

You disconnect capillary at the other end not the gauge end.

I take it this needs blocking off so the oil doesn't drain out? Bit confused as to why both parts of the gauge have fully stopped working? Any ideas? Cheers

So long as you don't start the engine you should be fine to just disconnect the oil pipe but a piece cloth might be handy just incase of any drips.

Very odd they should both stop as they are not really linked. Did they stop at the same time? maybe something is wedging the dials in some way!!

Well the oil pressure always needed flicking and never returned to it's stop. The water temp was ok but seemed a bit sticky too! The cars been in the garage for 3 months and not started, started it the other day on the button and the gauges had totally frozen?!
