Took the Cerb for an MOT at 730am today (left home at 6.30am zzzzZZ).

It flew through with no issues whatsoever! Very pleased. I did feel a wee bit anxious but there was no need. The garage know TVRs well (in fact the owner has a 92 Griff). They were very impressed by the condition of my Cerb and in particular the underneath :-) Must get some tax now.

I took my HIDs out. I wasnt entirely comfortable with them anyway. I now need new boots for the light units as I cut through them when adding the HIDs.
I think my beam pattern was 'marginal' though which probably was exacerbated by HIDs.

I got mine from the Scrappy's i think it was off a MG IIRC and they fit well.

The beam pattern throws up a lot of light to the nearside - likely to dazzle overtakees and no good for driving on the continent. I've changed mine to be completely horizontal using foil to mask off the nearside upsweep, and taken a lot of care over the height/angle to avoid blinding people. My main beam is regular halogen.

Edit: when I first got the car the beam was all over the place. I had to grind away some of the light housing to get them lined up properly as they wouldn't rotate far enough in the slots.

Which garage is that? anywhere near SE London? I need to take mine as soon as I have the water ways re-installed and the handbrake adjusted, and worry that the closest to me (next door's Kwik Fit) might not be the most 'understanding' of places...

Mine goes to STR8SIX up the M40 for an MOT, you could make a trip out of it.

I doubt that a Quickfit fitter would understand a Cerb, they probably wouldn't even be able to start it;-)
