New Cerbie owner, after months of looking I finally took the plunge and picked it up last Friday.

Samll problem (I hope !!) already, the indicators seem to have stopped working including the hazards.

The lights are flashing when the car is alarmed and dis-alarmed so presume nothing wrong with the lights themselves ??? And therefore thinking it is stalk related ???
Any ideas to get me started or is it a case of getting an expert to look at it ??
looking to give it a blast down the M2 sat so any would prefer to do it with indicators !

There is a bolt at the base of the indicator stalk that may need tightening, if it has come loose then the indicators will stop working - just a thought as i had a similar problem with mine..

Thanks Andy, would you be able to give some simple instructions for getting to the base of the stalk ??

When this happened to me a while back, I reset the indicator controller (on top of the fuel tank) by pulling the power lead for a few seconds. Did the trick.

Thanks for the tip, excuse my ignorance as I say not had it a week yet and still finding my way round the car. Is the Indicator Controller clearly marked as such when I start to look at all the boxes in there ?

Also Pulling the Power Lead, is that from the box or into the box ?? Also can / should I do this with ignition on to see if it works immediatly ?

cheers

Ignition off.
The boxes are clearly marked, if you consider masking tape and a felt-tip pen clear. One box will have "indicators" written on it with only one connector to remove and re-plug.

I'd expect it to be more likley to be a loose connection in the pod under the steering wheel though, or the indicator stalk as mentioned.

cheers, the third option then is "loose connection in the pod under the steering wheel"

could you enlighten me on what the pod is and how I would get to it ?? and would these instructions cover getting to the stalk as well ??

much appreciated

Just stick your head under the steering wheel and have a look, you should see a load of circuit boards and ribbon cable shoved in the space below the steering wheel. Have a jiggle with these.

I don't know about the indicator stalk i'm afraid.

The bolt on the indicator stalk is accessable by just pulling up the soft leather part at the base of the stalk on the steering colum, u can see it from there & a small set of long nose plyers should do the trick, if the stalk is not tight then it does not touch the sensor.

Worth a try....

how about checking the fuses.??

there seem to be lots of these in the boot, right side as you look, behind a velcro retained panel.
Whilst the lights working with the alarm does figure against the fuse being duff, I have spent several frustrating hours on other ( lesser ?) makes of car tracing wires and trying to find clever fixes to a fault, when it has turned out to be simply a fuse !!

..oh,, and don`t presume that if the fuse looks unbroken, it will conduct electricity, either check the continuaty, or replace with a known item !!

Good point, Fuse No.7 controls most of the electronics I think.

oh well had a look round last night without any joy, although did not have clue what I was doing.
looks like it is of to the experts already !!, anyone recommend someone close to Benfleet in Essex ?? I used to take my chimaera to kerridges but that is a bit of a trek for what i am hoping will be a quickish job.

PS, thanks for all the tips anyway.

Hi, my indicators did this a while ago , i unplugged all the connections cleaned them ( Don't forget to diconnect the battery first ) . I also talked to a auto electrician at the factory (He wasn't for giving any infomation away at first) he said unplug all of the units on top of the fuel tank and leave everything to settle down for about 20 minutes (Capacitors Discharge) then reconnect and try again
Don't forget though if you unplug the steering function control box there are 2 or 3 pins NOT connected to the big ribbon cable. This is normal.

Got mine back from the garage yesterday, only the fuse had gone in the end (fuse box on the right hand side)

They were working again before I left for work , luckily I had a few other jobs needed sorting.

Now ready to play again this weekend
