I have put my 4.2 in the for sale section but I am now in two minds. Have been away for a week and came back yetserday and took it out for a spin and now I am in two minds, it is just an amazing car to drive, looks, sound and in fact all ways, plus the fact I have had no major problems with her. The problem is we are having our second sprog begining of next year which is going to cause us transport problems. Any suggestions ?
no, you're right. 0+ only in the front, so unless the mrs is the size of a child, it's a bit of a non-starter.
We're about to have our 2nd, and so I'm resigned to no family trips in the cerb for 9 months or so. Not the end of the world, and the 02 mondeo we bought for the "support car" is actually rather good.

My 4 year old used to love going out in the Cerb.
He found that the seat was a perfect size for him with a booster to ensure he could see where we were going.
If you search the archives there are a few threads with seat recommendations for younger childen.

I went in the back of our Cerb until SBaby was old enough for a forward-facing seat, and I'm still here to tell the tale.

Nope, none whatsoever. Just don't have any more kids and you'll be fine!

My two sprogs always beg me to take the Cerb. At 8 and 11 they still fit in fine. Quite cosy in fact.
I almost put my Cerb up for sale recently, purely because of a fear of big bills. Realised though that the amount I’ll loose on sale will be the worse bill of all (as with most cars). And then I’ll loose even more in sales commission in buying some other dull conformist car.
The Cerb remains tops to look at, listen to and to drive. I still feel like a Cerb virgin every time

Anyway, back on-topic, I would reccomend getting the seat-base mod to give the child seat a more stable platform. We have the Brittax Freeway which baby Whatever seems to love.

You've got a point there. I wouldn't have liked to hit anything hard while in the back of the Cerb. But then again, hitting anything hard would be a bit of a downer anyway.
Although I could certainly have stayed there for more than 1/2 an hour with no ill-effects - the big downside is having to ask the driver if you can have the window open! Just like being 8 again. markys said:

Ours was a Greco system. Get a rough towel so the bottom of the seat doesn't slide around too much, or mark the seat itself. I then cut a half roll of that foamy stuff you put on roll-cages to squash between edge of seat and facia. Was a pretty solid fit.

no2 due next month, certainly if you are over 6ft as i am there is no way even a child booster will fit behind my seat, even with the first we had problems finding something to fit in the back, thankfully once emma could sit facing forward the tvr seat did the trick.
perhaps we`ll just have to experiment with various seats, or return to open top driving with a chimp for 2!

No Group 0 seats fit in the back, even with the front seat as far forward as it goes. You'd have to tilt the seat and it simply wouldn't be safe in the event of a shunt. Not the mention the fact that Junior would be hanging out of the seat and held in by the straps - ouch!!
Nope, the only way forward is to put a Group 0 seat in the front and wait until the baby can sit up on his/her own before using a forward-facing seat in the back.
