my steering wheel labels (horn, wipers, etc.) are hardly visible, has anybody already replaced them ?
is it necessary to remove the steering to get at the switches ?

Hi these are just stickers, and you can get them from Racing Green! Check their website

They do not appear to ship outside UK... :-( I'd need some also.

yes they are stickers (I have a set), but they are under the frame which surrounds the cap of the switch. so the question is more, how do I remove the frame ?

of course I could reduce the diameter of the sticker and just stick it on, but this is not going to last...

racetech have them also :

The frame is just a lipped ring that is a press fit over the switch. You don't need to remove the switch, just very carefully prise it up with a very thin blade or screwdriver.

You can get replacement ones in both black and brushed aluminium from RS components.

I bought the stickers and the brushed aluminium rings a while ago. Took a quick look at how to remove the black plastic rings and it didn't appear to be as simple as just prising them off.

Are you sure it's that simple? I was on the verge of removing the steering wheel and pushing them from the back. Also want to replace the window switch surrounds but again couldn't see a simple means of prising the black plastic ones off

Yes - it is that simple. There isn't much of a lip and they fit tightly hence the need for a very thin blade, but they absolutely do just prise off.

Taking the switches out of the surrounds will not help - the rings fit from the front and just push on.

OK thanks Peter. I'll take a closer look. It's one of those little jobs on my 'to do list'!

I seem to remember damaging one or two of the original black rings taking them off, so they are definitely tight, but there was no damage to the switches. The aluminium rings are not as tight a fit and I used a tiny dot of glue on the inside edge of the ring on the window switches because they kept working loose.

Is this type of switch ?

It seems the ring can not be ordered separately ?

The switch is the one from the equivalent parts thread but it looks rather like RS have stopped doing the rings. frown
