Throttle cable length
Discussion
Hi, last night and this morning I've tackled the awfull job of replacing my throttle cable.
I followed the advice of connecting the new to old to guide it through so I never had the two cables side by side to compare lengths, but I was shocked at how short the old one seemed.
I'm now left with a throttle that feels like its set in cement and no good. It seems that the new cable is to long making it not pull freely.
Does anyone have any advice or have a spare they could measure to confirm the length of a 4.5 cable?
I'm going le mans classic soon and was only changing the cable as the old one looked past it's best :-(
Cheers guys!

Having a quisk look on Powers website... (thanks for the pics)
This is a 4.2

This is a 4.5

Would suggest that the 4.2 is considerably longer from those pics.
When I replaced mine it went up through the bulkhead then did a 270° clockwise loop above the brake booster before exiting into the engine bay.

Let me guess RG - CT?
That lad had me over with leaving out one of the items from my rear end rebuild.
Thought he might have improved by now.
You guessed it! That lad had me over with leaving out one of the items from my rear end rebuild.
Thought he might have improved by now. When I queried the cable, it was said That one size fits all and it was my fitting at fault. Then I was put onto a nice guy who seemed to have his head screwed on and sorted out the correct cable. Mistakes happen I suppose and they did seem busy.
Apparently it was delivered to my work today so I'm going to start phsycing myself up to spend a couple of hours upside down again.
