Had my shocks overhauled by Gaz a while back and they've started to squeak again.
Not happy, not happy one little bit!
What options do I have with replacements and who is offering the best prices and customer service?
I'm not looking to track the car but I do like having the adjustment.
Looking to keep costs below £900,
I want a good quality shock that doesn't bl..dy squeak!
I know this question has been raised before but the search engine isn't working, I'm off on the bowgie run week after next and would like to get it sorted before I go so your help/ thoughts would be very helpful

I find my Nitrons to be very very good, racing reds may be a slightly cheaper option.

I'm very happy with my wide body, rose jointed Protechs on standard road springs...... Untill trying to keep up with Mikeinsheffield... Then it bottoms out... But we are pressing on a bit wink

I may up grade to fast road springs next year

I've had them 18 months,, no issues atall and they cost around 700

I've looked at these on the web, it mentions that some people have had problems with sets being supplied but not balanced.
Where did you purchase yours? I assume you've not had such a problem?

If money was no object I'd possibly go with Nitrons but I can't justify the expense righ now
I'll take a look at the racing red option.

Raceproved spec d and supplied them.... I fitted them myself.

Nitrons are expensive yes, but saving up that bit longer is the best Money you will ever spend on the Cerb. I have been really pushing mine hard the last few weeks and they are first class.

I had Gaz on my chim they began with s and ended in e hehe like yours squeak and bottomed out.

Must say I'd never buy them again, you're right in what you say they do bottom out and the squeak becomes rather annoying particularly in towns where it resonates and makes your pride and joy sound like a builders truck!
I also agree nitrons would be money well spent but I bought the car knowing I'd have to spend a small fortune to get it up to A1, I've now spent double the figure I had set aside so I need to lower my sights and start budgeting before she who should be obeyed becomes my ex!
I've looked at the racing reds and they seem a good option?

Check out my rear end rebuild thread for the condition of my Protechs after a few thousand miles.

For the money you can't get any better imho.

Oddly enough TVR Power advertise then as Racing red nitron and I've been under the impression that they are a range nitron released to compete with the mid range products

I was looking at those also but went for Gaz Gold Pro after being told the RR are not produced any longer.

They have been the Nitrons for the cost conscious, so probably production (or remaining stock) was sold off Nitron...?

...which could explain, that the name had disappeared.

I'll look into this, the advert seems to imply that stock is held so I assumed they were still being produced.
Really want to avoid Gaz as I've had nothing but trouble with them.

Nitrons still need servicing, they recommend every 12-14k. My car had them on when I bought it and had done circa 14k when the fronts got really noisy.

I sent them off, took a little over 2 weeks and £207 (damper shafts were already screwed so had to be replaced) and now all good again. Not convinced they're top quality either when the shocks for my mountain bike cost more! I've had a look around but I can't find any make of aftermarkert shocks that really suggest long life. I'd like Bos suspension but thats £4.5k fitted which I can't stretch to atm.

Piston rods dead at 14K? That's worse than the original Bilsteins.
