Is the AJP8 derived from these engines?

Reason I ask is there's a Cerbera advertised & it says they are a Judd 10 Formula1 engine?

Al Melling does claim a connection iirc to the Judd design so there is a tenuous link but as the AJP is a different design and a V8 it's stretching it to claim it's an F1 engine.

He was involved in F1 for a period so his claims are possible . Have a look at this Wikipedia entry but I suspect it's been written by the man himself so there may be some extravagent claims in there that can't be verified due to NDAs etc

I remember Racing green telling me that some of the Speed 6 and AJP components were very closely related (copied) from a Yamaha design. Judd did take their Formula 1 engine design to Yamaha around the same time as the AJP/Speed 6 was designed in order to move Judd into the sports car market (never really took off). The fact that a similar engine with a few copied Yamaha components emerged shortly after would suggest that some of the fundamental design was carried over from this, though Judd/Yamaha had no formal input to the AJP engine as far as I'm aware.

When I interviewed Al a few years back he claimed he'd had a big hand in the design of the Yamaha engine and since you've mentioned it I recall he also said he had some connection with the Judd V8 in the Leyton House F1 car, so like I said yes but very tenuous.

Good grief, I hope not. I have an eleven year old on my Bus who can construct an article in better english than that Wiki-post.

I saw the Leyton House F1 car at Goodwood on thursday, and had a good look at the engine too as they had the cowel off.
