Cerbera for 11k.. What would you expect?
Discussion
Theres no hard n fast rule. It depends on the condition, history and previous owner.
It will need the chassis doing at some point - at £11K you would assume its sooner rather than later. But this might not be the case, just an increased likelihood.
If the engine is strong then you will hopefully have no major issues. The headgaskets dont last forever and as the cars get older they seem to go mroe regularly.
You will have some niggles - the question is how many and at what cost. Allow two or three K per annum and niggles and servicing will be covered. From time to time you might get a big bill but it just depends!

So no advisories on the MOT, and an engine rebuild would be a positive..
I would never trust an MOT to give any inidcation on a cars well being. So a lack of advisories wouldnt excite me. A rebuild - probably a good thing. Depends who did it and how long ago and how its been cared for since.

It was MOT'd at a TVR specialist so my logic is they be looking for the common stuff..A rebuild - probably a good thing. Depends who did it and how long ago and how its been cared for since.
Good point, thought that after posting.
It is so difficult to price a TVR for exactly the reasons/question listed above. Too cheap, oh it must be rubbish, too expensve, oh waste of money. Rebuilds etc all add to the complexity.
If buying a car, yes these things are important but buying a TVR shouldn't be too different from any other car. Good history, well looked after, reasonable price etc.

My car was MOT'd and owned by a TVR "specialist" not always a good thing ( read my project thread ) Go in with your eyes wide open and some one who knows what to look out for on a cerb and take it from there.Good point, thought that after posting.
Scotty
Been to see it.. I think it mechanically and electrically pretty sorted now, going by the recent bills, but it's a little scruffy inside and few bits outside. Imo of course. Just worried I am missing something. Think the clutch will be soon. No evidence or reciepts for that one.
It is Adrenochromes old car after some internet snooping..
