And the odyssey/nightmare begins.... engine out ??
Discussion
I would also post on the "Speed Six Engine" forum if you haven't already. There is a lot more S6 expertise there than on the Cerbera forum. I am not sure which schematics you are referring to as being wrong but they are probably for the AJP 8 not the Speed6
Nothing you do with the ECU can affect the oil pump and resetting the adaptives while the engine is running will do no harm at all, at least on an AJP 8.
As camel_landy says - why would an unused chip burn out?

Yes I will post on the S6 as well.Nothing you do with the ECU can affect the oil pump and resetting the adaptives while the engine is running will do no harm at all, at least on an AJP 8.

I looked on the S6 overview diagram, it is simiar as the one here but in a xls format.

but for instance Pin 20+40 on the ECU are definitly not GND but coil-drive
Can misfire (abrupt forces on the chain) break the woodruff key on the shaft of the oil pump ? I don't know.
I have no idea why the chip was burnt out. I found out that my car is somehow a hybrid, Its an S6 but text on the wiring loom is from the V8 (e.g. Lambda Even/Odd). I have an oil cooler radiator which has never been connected... So I suppose at some time the wiring on the car was adapted/changed. I opened the ECU connector and wires were cut and swaped. Someone must have made a fault which burnt the chip and after the wiring was corrected it worked and nobody cared anymore.

That diagram is on my website and is correct for my 4.2 AJP 8. IT agrees with the factory wiring diagrams as well. Don't forget the coils are given a constant 12v feed from pins 55 & 19 and the ground on pins 20 & 40 is switched by the ECU to drive them.http://www.tvr-cerbera.co.uk/WorkshopWiringDiagram...

My advice would be to whip the rocker cover off and check the shims are all seated properly, if there is one missing it could have been eaten by the pump, but it would be good to check the top end anyway.
I can't see it being related to the diagnostics, but it is hard without being there.

thanks. my response is continued in speed6 sectionI can't see it being related to the diagnostics, but it is hard without being there.
