Discussion
I would do a search in the past threads for the answers you are lookin for. I bet this question gets asked 2/3 times a month.

In my experience they have niggles. It's like any car, there are good ones and bad ones but because they are such a low volume car and there is such an active interaction between owners it always tends to be the bad things that are spoken about.
My car has needed new slave cylinder seals and a throttle cable (both fairly common problems I'm led to believe).
I would get it checked out by a good dealer/indy and when you go to look at the car find out if it has the later clutch version. FSH, not necessarily dealer but also a known good independent as sometimes that may be better.
I prefer the higher mileage cars (5000 miles/year) as it shows that they have been used and hopefully a lot of the niggles have been ironed out.
They sound like a bag of spanners when cold but should get a bit quieter when warm. Check that the owner does not rag it from cold as that is probably the best way to damage the engine.
Good oil pressure, have a look at some recent threads for what different owners are happy with. I saw one car with 10 psi at idle and I walked away, I would prefer at least 20+ psi at hot idle.
See if the owner keeps receipts for work/upgrades. I like to see this as it makes me happy that they have taken care of the car.
I'm sure there will be a few more suggestions along shortly but have a look through the archives as many people have asked the same question at some point, including myself.
