Had an issue with the Cerb and all the handbrake components on the nearside have destroyed themselves including smashing the back-plate to pieces.I have sourced replacement items but i`m not sure of the procedure the fit the replacement back-plate.I know that i have to undo the 41m/m hub-nut(anti-clockwise) but what is the procedure then for removing the hub & bearing?Do I have to remove all the handbrake components first or does the hub just tap out of the bearing? Do I have to remove the hub-carrier to undo the 3-cap-head bolts that hold the back-plate to the carrier or can you undo them with it still on the car? Any advice would be appreciated-thanks.
Al.

Remove the big nut, un clamp the handbrake cable from the carrier, pull cable from behind and should come out of the hub. Three Allen bolts hold the bear/wheel flange from behind, then the whole lot will come away.

Yes. The back Plate it sandwiched between the wheel bearing and upright. Might find it stuck due to corrosion but will come away

For a start make sure you undo the nearside hub nut by turning it CLOCKWISE!

They are tightened by turning in the forward direction of the wheel you are working on.

Then as Peter says. Might be worth bashing the stub axle out first, bit of wood and a club hammer will help prevent damage. Pop the bearing off, careful as the outer flange can fall off! Then tap the backing plate off the upright.

Pretty sure the big bolts into the bearing are thread locked when refitting. Also, buy a new Nyloc hub nut.

Well i stripped the replacement hub today and i thought this is a left-hand thread but because the hub-carrier was off the car i couldn`t hold it to get the nut undone so ended up cutting the nut off......then confirmed it is a left-hand thread! Also had a b*****d job getting the 3 cap-heads undone because they had corroded into the hub-carrier,hope the one`s on the car are easier to undo! smile
