Owning a TVR in Oz
Discussion
Hi Guys
I havent posted for a few years as I'm living in sunny Brisbane. I once owned a 98 4.2 Cerb in the UK for a couple of years, I used to take it to Ian at Torque TVR for any repairs. My question is, would a normal garage not familiar with TVR's be able to service and carry out repairs on them? I never took my Cerb to any other garage than a specialist TVR centre so concerned they may not know how to repair/service etc... I'm thinking tappet adjustments and the like...
I recall going to the Cerbergring with everyone a few years back, did any of you go to that? A great weekend!

I would keep a laptop with the diagnostic software and workshop manual on it and find a garage that is happy to use it. Even an experienced garage will need to know things like the safe position for the crank when doing tappets and you can't set the engine up correctly without the software.

Yup, I was there at the Cerbergring Trip - as you say a brill' time - as have all the other "Cerbs do the Continent" been.
As everyone says, Cerbs do not require Rocket Scientists to keep them going. A decent mechanic with history and an open mind will have no probs.
If in doubt, there are always these hallowed pages to search for answers.
P.S. Brisbane ? Cerbs Up !!
