Any other eagle-eyed eBayers seen this ad:

£3k for a crank is a lot of cash, but it got me thinking....... if you combined this stroker crank with the increased bore of the 4.7 conversion, then in theory you could build an AJP8 with a displacement in excess of 5.2 litres!!!! It would need to be a careful build though, e.g. compression ratios with the stock heads might be an issue, but should break the 500hp barrier.

I spoke to APM about exactly this today. The cost and reliability issues make it a non starter for me.

They've been knocking around for ages.. I thought about buying probably this very crank, and a set of head spacers (required to run this crank) about 2-3 years ago now...??? I'm guessing it just never sold and has been on a shelf since. This was exactly the feeling last time it was for sale, I think there was even a PH thread about it..

the large displacement engines ive run havent made more than very good red rose power, suggesting theyre on a 4.5 bore. Going to the 4.7 bore would help .. but if they don't rev then why not blow the air in? 600hp? anybody feeling brave ?

I think a1rak has already been brave, and is starting to reap the benefits.
