Recently fitted my radtec Ali radiator and all is working great, left the engine cover off just to monitor for any leaks that i could quickly get to without having to remove the cover.

The radtec rad is a direct replacement, the only thing i had to do was to drill the mounting holes for the rubber mounts, which i done working off the original rad by measuring it,

The problem i have is that the rad is sat to high, and can't get the engine panel on, i have a late car with the full cover from rad to the front of the engine, how can it not fit, the rad seems to be further forward and sat higher. I had a quick measure with it in the car and the rad is 14.5 inches high as is the original.

Just trying to get ideas before having to take it out again, and measure it mm to mm against the original.

Did you mark the holes in the upper mounting brackets accurately? Might be worth removing the rad and opening those holes up so there is a bit more adjustment on the upper mounting bobbins. I assume you have a later car with the full length engine bay cover? I had this issue also and opening up the holes and some stainless penny washers cured the issue...

That is precisely what I done. The side tabs on the new radiator are set differently to the old. So when I marked the holes in what I thought the right place was in fact 7mm out. So larger hole and penny washer and much better

Had to adjust the engine panel to fit. New holes for mounting to the rad and because it sit a bit further forward made the bleed access hole bigger.

But all done now.
