My mate on the Tuscan forum (Tuscaholic) asked me what tyres I run and when I went to check the sizes noticed that the fronts are both worn on the inside to the point where there is no tread left at all. They're OK right up to the edge and then they're as bald as a coot.

I run 225/35/ZR18's. Do you think they're rubbing or is it more likely to be to do with tracking and/or camber? Do you think the Nitrons are set too low down?

Any suggestions very welcome.

Joo sorted mine out...
Like a dream now... I think its a combination of camber and toe... pop it into him, he'll get some new tyres at a great price and sort the config out too...
Well worth it...
Plus the weathers gone belly-up, wouldnt recommend you drive around with them in that state...

dealers take the biscuit when they bang on new tyres and dont look at why the old ones wore out so quickly on the inner circles... common problem, easy to sort out, but they dont, why not? so you come back for more tyres and get ripped off again by their markup...

Thanks, SXS. I guess that won't have helped with my earlier post re the wet weather:-
Driving down the A1(M) tonight in the dusky gloom - it had just been raining mega-heavily and the motorway was thick with water and spray everywhere.

Doing about 60 mph in the middle lane with a car on each side just in front. Ploughed into what can only be described as a small lake. The bow waves from the vehicles in front crashed down on the car like a tsunami and the front wheels dug in.

Blinded by the sheets of water, I felt the back end twitch out to the side and I thought "this is it - I'm a gonna for sure!" and then I was through and it straightened out again.

I glanced in the mirror, thinking about the poor hapless souls about to do the same, and this petrol tanker with two cars next to it boffed through the same water. I was amazed they all came through and very glad I hadn't been next to the tanker when the back end started going.

So much for "my cars good in the wet!" - its not blo*dy amphibious though!
Thought you was getting a bit personal and taking the pi$$ about us guys with no hair at first Jesse....till I realised you were talking about tyres.

Have you been up to Sheffield recently visiting your mother-in-law?

Hi Mick,

Soz - not having a go at the follicly-challenged! : pennydropssmilie: - is that why you're Kojak69 on here?

Actually, yeah, I was up there last weekend as a staging post for visiting my daughter at her summer camp up Leeds-way.

Unfortunately, once I got there, the Cerb stayed in their garage all weekend because on the way up the Chesterfield by-pass on Friday night I hit a rather high speed on the straight (as there were no other vehicles about) and discovered on my arrival that the top seal on the windscreen had peeled right off!!

I kept my eyes open, though, and spotted a green wedge on Saturday in Bradford at 3.30 p.m. on Killinghall Road; a blue Chim thundering through Ecclesall Woods on Sunday at 7.30 p.m.; and a silver Tuscan rumbling down the M40 at 9.30 p.m. on Sunday. Sadly, no Cerbs spotted this time.

Will be back in Sheffield the weekend of 04/05 Sept but will have to take the VR6 up as my daughter has finally gotten too big for long journeys in the back of Cerb.

How's the car, by the way?

Thats right Jesse. I'm afraid I dont have long flowing pony tails, hence where the 'kojak' comes from. The '69' bit, well, i'll let you fathom that one out

As for the car.., fingers crossed, its running fine. (I've said it now).

When you are up here in a few weeks time, let me know if you fancy meeting up for a pint.
