What pads are you using? I had Mintex in mine, they squealed like a pig, they were too hard for road use and warped my front discs,EBC red stuff are good enough for fast road use.
They are brain damage the mintex ones both my cars run them. Great stopping power for the cost but the squeal is driving me mental!!!!!esso said:

I also run on Mintex but can't stand the noise any longer! Car is in today having red stuff fitted along with the sticky shimms Aide suggested ....... Picking it up later so I'll let you know how it goesD

Wow! Red stuff sure do stop!! My old pads weren't particularly worn but I couldn't stand the noise.
Fitted red stuff today and some new shims, now have silent braking but first and foremost a lovely solid brake pedal with sharp response, gonna bed them in and see how good they really are but first impressions are indeed impressive

Mintex pads have always been fine for me on road use. Shims on the back stop the squealing which they are somewhat prone to.
There is no way that a standard road pad will cause a disk to warp unless there is a calliper/disk problem already.
When i had the Mintex pads fitted the front discs were skimmed, they were fine to start with but within a 1000 miles the discs were warped again and there was no way i could stop the squeal. In the end i fitted new discs and EBC redstuff and i have not had an issue since. There is no way that a standard road pad will cause a disk to warp unless there is a calliper/disk problem already.
If the disks were skimmed in the first place then that was done because they were already warped. The stresses are still there in the disk despite the skimming. Skimmed disks will continue to warp regardless of what you do to them - skimming them doesn't cure anything it just hides the symptoms.
I really don't think that you can blame pads that many thousands of people have used on a range of cars without any issue for wrecking already knackered disks. The noise is one thing but they are otherwise excellent pads and have the best cold performance of any pad that I have been able to try on the Cerbera.

My ramblings are purely based on my own experience. The Mintex do certainly stop but they really do squeal.
Having fitted the red stuff they were immediately noticeably better under braking and so far no squealing ........ I don't wish to start an argument but I do believe that we all strive for the same goal? I've listened to others opinions on Ph and drawn my own conclusions ..... Thanks to those that recommended the red stuff and the adhesive shims, they've worked for me.
