Did you jack the car up from the front (so both front wheels are off the ground) ? It makes withdrawing the old coilover easier as the anti roll bar will not try and compensate for the opposite side being compressed

When trying to remove one of my fronts, the steel insert in the shocker lug had rusted to the mounting bolt. Managed to turn it until it broke the rubber dampening but the inner collar would not budge.
Eventually had to Dremmel it out.
It took 5 days !

Similar here, if you count the week it took to go and get a 1mm cut off blade for the angle grinder mine was around 7 days. When trying to remove one of my fronts, the steel insert in the shocker lug had rusted to the mounting bolt. Managed to turn it until it broke the rubber dampening but the inner collar would not budge.
Eventually had to Dremmel it out.
It took 5 days !

Lower mounting bolt rusted solid in the shock. Both ends snapped off, broke 3 drills in it trying to drill through and ended up slicing through the bolt with the cut off saw to get it out!
