What engine oil to use nowedays?

Hi guys, as per title. 4.5 with 23k miles, normal service item. Do they still do Mobil 1 0W 40? or is something else better. Thanks all !!

Hi, Andy at APM always puts Mobil 1 15-50 in my 4.5

It's higher mileage than yours at 75k but still has very good oil pressure and doesn't use more than about a pint between services so I assume it's in a healthy condition for the miles.

According to the book you should use 0w30 but i have been putting in 5w40 fully synthetic just seems to be the best oil to use for looking after the engine.

It makes a lot of difference whether you are a fair weather and occasional track day driver (like me), or whether you drive it to work every day and leave it out in the snow and ice.

Fyi, it's a garage queen really. Had it mot'd on Friday (220 miles between mot's). I ride my bike mainly. I only do bike trackdays....

I use Fuch's 15w-50 In mine Mainly summer use odd track day.
