This has probably been asked a million times, but Google isn't coming up with the goods..

What engine is in the Pink Cerbera Clarkson road tests? That looks like a 4.5 top end to me.. Yet he stated 360bhp etc, so I assume it's supposed to be a 4.2...

Back then it would... At the time I think most cars were 4.2's and the 4.5 road cars weren't that powerful (remaps and short induction kits weren't around). A Tuscan engine seems to make around 430bhp in a decent state of tune (higher compression, different intakes etc). This one was probably built for purpose though and mapped to produce as much power as possible so I wouldn't be surprised if it was a bit more than a normal well built race engine..!

No Verminator, that was the Rosso Red 4.2 N244KCW, we're talking here about M515RCW which was the original Top Gear road test car. There was some talk about N244 also having a trick engine, but this one was an Autocar test car and was rolling roaded at bang on TVR's official figures. M515 certainly looked to have 4.5 induction, so you'd expect it to be a Tuscan Challenge engine or similar.

Also subsequently other 4.2's have matched the standing mile times set by N244KCW from looking about..
