What do you think this noise is
Discussion
I've got a sound coming from the rear of the car - sounds like the diff area.
It's not a dull clunk but more of a higher pitched clicking sound.
There's also a jolt felt through the chassis at the same time that feels like a shock absorber set to rock hard and you've just run over a stone.
This only occurs when letting off the throttle and not necessarily when the cars being given the beans.
No noise/jolt whatsoever on taking up drive.
Diff bushes were replaced before I bought the car - less than 2000 miles ago.
Any clues where to start looking?

This has been discussed on many occasions and is normally the pads rattling up and down the disc,s, try this drive the car and take your foot of the loud pedal and if you can haer the clicking then 9 times out of 10 its the pads then put you foot gently on the brakes and it stops bobs your uncle it is the pads, best way I have found to stop it after various fixes is to silicone the pads to the piston you will need heat resistant silicone though, good luckIt's not a dull clunk but more of a higher pitched clicking sound.

because the holes in the pads are bigger than the holes in the calipers where the split pins go, so they jump up and down hiting the dics and make a sound a bit like castonets but when you apply the brakes pressure is put ot the pad stoping them jumping up and down, this is nothing knew trust me I have had my Cerbera 14 years and know most of its niggles
If it was the pads rattling I don't think you'd feel a jolt through the chassis.
Simple test to see if its the pads is just lightly apply the footbrake when you hear the sound, If the sound stops on applying the brakes, then you have loose pads.
But it sounds like maybe a diff part or C/V joint problem.
