WHO IS THE YOUNGEST
Discussion
Got the Elise at 22, Cerb as I turned 24, and Tuscan 2 days before my 25th, so you've got me beat.
Christmc, not sure if I've "spotted" you or not - there was a yellow Cerb in the Huddersfield UCI cinema car park a while back that I saw. I tried talking to the driver but he was an arrogant s
t... so I'm hoping it wasn't you.

First cerbera was in my late teens.
You dont want to know how much I had been paying on insurance....
Now its an acceptable amount.
But the price you can pick them up these days, theres always gonna be spotty little squirt who's barely hit puberty driving in one....
The factory told me that there was a kid who bought a new 4.2 when he turned 16!!! I was gutted, I thought I was the youngest ever.....

there's a yellow one in halifax, I see it regularly, most often when i'm in the beemer lol. It was out on Sunday though down Keighly road, I waved from the S and he gave a celebration extra loud pop and bang on the downhill section .. made me smile

So the moral of this post really is,
anyone can drive a tiv, no age/money/sex barrier whatsoever...
So does this still make it an exclusive niche brand of car to be owned... or is it another ford escort rs turbo thing?
I wander if cars like the Typhon and Sagaris will hold their value at halfway threshold and no less, keeping them in a more niche market? and less accessible to the masses....
From what I know of a few who have moved on, their main reasons were just that, "any tom, dick and harry" can buy one of these nowadays... the status is tarnished.... (I wander ???)

I moved on for the same reason I'll probably sell the Tuscan in a year or so - cars are like clothes - to be tried on and worn for a season or two. Maybe someday I'll get a car I can't bear to part with. I imagine it'll be a restored Jaguar XK-150 with some serious V8 dropped into it.
I think a lot of people that buy TVRs (and Cerbs especially) buy them because they're almost their ideal car... they've got the looks, the power, the sense of occasion, and possibly the handling (dependant upon a trip to Chesterfield). But something truly Maranellic like a 550, or the likes of a Vanquish, would tempt most away because of alleged reliability, and a bit more of most/all of the above. Given the numbers produced, they're still exclusive, but in a different way; it's a different type of people that own them - richer, generally
. I'd be interested to know how many Toms/Dicks/Harrys bought a Cerb because it seemed like a performance bargain only to have to sell it within a year because of crippling running costs.Gassing Station | Cerbera | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
