Was going to change them both at the weekend then noticed the washer jets appear to be glued to the side of the wiper. Is that a TVR special or do some wipers come like that?

Standard 16" wiper blades, the washer part is clipped onto the arm not the blade, unless of course yours has been modified in some way.

Hmmm..wonder if it has because when I removed the blade the jets were most definitely attached to it. I did expect it to be attached to the wiper arm.

scratchchin wonder if it's time for some sort of mod.

You can buy wiper blades with the jets fixed to them. I bought some a few years ago off fleabay.

I need to replace my arms I think as the blades lift off the screen directly in front if the driver and leave a round patch about 10 inches round, that has not been cleared. I've changed the wipers twice this year as I though the blades were at fault

I had those ones and binned them and made my own up last winter. The modded ones are far better and with Modern Aero blades that fit the windscreen they are great (I use the £6 ones from Tesco's and they are decent run them on all my cars) . I am sure I made a thread some where about them. scratchchin

I can only find this picture of the jets I used. I made 2 alloy brackets up and mounted them under the scuttle panel very tidy and easy to unplug when removing the panel.

I'm guessing just the blades needed then?

Might pop down and see my motor factor mate see what he can rustle up - he doesn't charge extra for the letter TVR smile

Can see the benefit of this, but these days I'm with FUBAR on DIY.

I did this still get that round patch for the first few mins of using the wipers and then they seem to wipe all the screen, may be the blades go stiff with being parked for days or weeks and take a while to regain their flexibility.

Use some rain x to help. I changed to the flat blade ones and are rubbish. Going back to the normal type when I get some next.

I've had the Leven ones on for about 5 years. Most excellent. I bought the arms and the blades and even I managed to fit them on my own in about 15 minutes (10 minutes of which was the hassle of feeding the rubber tube up through the wiper arm spring to keep it all neat and tidy)

Even replacing the blades last year was a job I could have managed (but farmed this out to Austec during a service hehe)

Well most unlike me I decided today they need changing and have ordered some Leven ones as a replacement as it seems the previous owner did the upgrade.
They are due in the post tomorrow so should be unboxed and fitted by the end of the month.
