Odd question for you, but does anyone know the roof dimensions of the cerebra as follows:

Top of A-pillar to beginning of "C" pillar as it were

Length along bottom from vertical point beneath the top of the A pillar to rear of window

Width at approx position of 'B' and 'C' pillar positions, as well as width across the top.

I know it sounds odd, but can someone measure their roof for me?

I am thinking of moulding one and reducing / resizing it to fit my Chimaera as a hard top, but need to get an idea of how close it is to the shape / size of the Chimaera and, therefore, how much chopping would be required. Alternatively I might buy a write-off and mess around with the roof, but clearly there has to be at least some mileage on this approach, otherwise I might as well get a CAD copy-design and start from scratch.

Many thanks,

Rich

I don't know for sure, but if it were me (and you have the design ability) I'd start from scratch. A 'chopped' roof is only ever going to look like a chopped roof. If a job's worth doing....

I'd take inspiration from the Cerb but design it to to suit the Chim. The difference between fitting and suiting will make all the difference. That red racing Chim out in the far east with a hardtop (pic of which floats around on PH from time to time) is pretty well executed.

If you need assistance with plug work or moulding talk to Plasticman (He's in Bedford). I reckon there's a market for them if you get it right!

Never been too happy with the Cerb Rear End and if I were to do it (rofl) I would make a deeper fastback to the tip of the boot and flick it up.

Then you should have bought a Marcos instead, and we all could have stood back and pointed! And sniggered! biggrin

Now it's funny you should say that Olly. Do you remember, I guess it must have been at the end of the Sixties, but there wa a TV Ad for National Petrol and there was this FABULOUS-looking 60s-style bird in a hole-knit mini dress being taken away for a sex marathon weekend by some bloke who had a penis on wheels.

Was that a Marcos ?? scratchchin

It could have been a Saturn V rocket being flown by the Beetles (minus 1) with added nukes for all I know. I was born in 1979.
