I heard earlier today, from a dealer, that the factory are not going to be producing any more Cerbera's.

They believe that the last customer car was delivered today. It was a nice cascade purple one.

Don't care what anyone else thinks it was when introduced the best looking car TVR ever produced and unbeaten to this day. Sure is one hard act to follow so i think they wont even try.

Indeed, a sad day.

Ted, can you confirm this???

sad day if its true, but after PW stepped down, the Cerberas production futures always looked a little iffy.

We should be celebrating though, 11year old design - still fresh, still quicker than most sub £100k production cars and still the TVR King.

It is still the best looking TVR with the only engine that works and that's the model they decide to stop producing!!

There would be several other cars before the Cerb on my list. I'm looking at you Tamora.

Obviously ignoring the little side issue that they aren't selling any Cerberas! Why are they not selling many? God knows that they have too many 2 seaters in the range I'd have thought that the only 4 seater would still be selling.

If this is the case at least we all own a genuine classic sportscar. Really hope it isn't true though.

Guess the rumours were true then.

So Joo, you going to have other suppliers lined up for parts? Cos I can bet my right foot that the prices for Cerbera parts from the factory will go wayyyy up...

Just as well I'm doing a complete car rebuild, the only thing staying TVR will be the block... hehe...

Wait a minute....

would this not mean that the value of cerbera's should keep their own now?.... now that its going to end up a rare and classic peice of british beast?

SXS - my thoughts exactly re firming of residual. Griff prices seemed to firm up no end when that finished production.

I hope so, but I guess it would depend on what the supply of spare parts is like.

If you can't get the parts, I would expect people would steer clear of them, and the prices would be depressed even further.

If the parts are easy to source, I would hope that prices would stabilise.

Hmm, like the Mitsubishi 3000GT's.... another one that had so much more potential but just canned....

Well, I hope not...

but then if thats the case, eventually most cerbera's will be scrapped or just sitting the garage to look at.... unless you're willing to spend upwards of 5 figure sums to get alternative rebuilds or go down the 'LS1' transplant route...

The worst worry is, I hope she dont become another 8k kit car for the late night sainsbury's car park lads.... I can see it now, huge spoilers, 6" exhausts, strobe neons, Fast Car, Max Power, Revvs.... I REALLY DO HOPE NOT!!!!! (worst nightmare!)

You can't be serious? I'd heard rumours about the end of the AJP8 due to emissions but to simply end production? So there is not even going to be a SP6 version?

Ted, please get confirmation on this? What the hall are the chances of getting a 4.5 clutch going to be know?

I've been teetering on the brink of buying a Cerbera for a couple of months now, reading all the threads and trying to make a balanced judgement of whether to buy or not.

Just when I thought I was ready to go in with my eyes open...

This makes a serious dent in my enthusiasm for getting involved until the dust blows over. I am really bothered by the potential for few or very expensive spares.

No, not even a special edition final production run? It feels like my pride and joy is being 'brushed' under the carpet

.....shhhhhh perhaps nobody will notice....

I don't know why we're worried ?

There is a hardcore following for the Cerbera and I would say that there are enough specialists around to make sure that parts won't be a problem, even if it means some enterprising people retro fitting different parts - if something works I'm sure that word will still get around.

Face it, it was always going to happen, The Cerb is the only car using the AJP8, and TVR a clearly committed to the Sp6. The fact that no more are being made doesn't make the beast that it currently sitting out in my work car park any less desirable - in fact in time it will be more desirable.

IMHO the classics will be the Griff, the Chim and the Cerb, these are the TVRs that I like.

I'm not too worried, after all I ran my 3000M everyday with no worries. It was 26 years old at the time. TVR only made 650 of them.

I would think that there is enough interest in the aftermarket (not to mention all those Tuscan challenge cars that will want to keep going) to keep ownership viable for a good few years yet.

Indeed

There is a strong following for the Cerbera and I feel there always will be.

Whilst it is sad the end has come, I am excited by the rumours of the future for TVR.

We will all probably dabble with other cars at some stage but will remain united
in our passion for the Blackpool rocket.

We all still have our cars, there are plenty out there up for grabs and with the likes
of Joolz around, we have nothing to fear.

Agree. It has been in production for nearly 10 years, so it comes as no supprise. Its a shame, nevertheless.

Glad I ordered mine back in March then! Was meant to arrive in July, but still waiting . . .

Apparently it's rolling of the line tomorrow and will be with me next week - but then I've been told next week since July! I'll keep you posted.

The Northern Ireland dealer has a demonstrator on order as well, so that means 2 of the last 4 in build are coming to NI.
I wonder why the factory are letting a new dealer buy a demonstrator when they are about to quit production?

Graham, does this mean you are going to organise a TCR Cerbera Gathering, to include the last few off the line, so we can all tell each other how lucky we are that no one else can join our exclusive club

IMHO the last off the line should be a yellow one, being the 'agreed' best colour for cerbs it would nice to see the last off the line honoured in this way
