After reading Gary's Sorn Thread and a few others it got me thinking for those who don't venture out much in winter what have you got planned over the cold months on your Cerb?

I have loads as per normal this time of year that will leave me flapping to get back on the road for the 1st of april and i am 2 months late this year on starting work paperbag

My list.....

Engine and gear box out.

Gear box getting sent in for a re-con syncro's are going in 2nd and 5th have been since i got the car more or less.

As usual when the engine is out so is the spray cans for more mental engine coloring in from me nuts (I am happy leave me and my blind asylum colouring alone hehe )

Stainless manifolds to be fitted.

Getting new up-rated clutch slave seals that don't die with heat soak.

paint weld repair and issue's i find when the engine and box are out.

replace any scabby pipe work or the likes while it's out.

I have a full new carpet set sitting there but it will go in my loft until next year when I start to strip the interior out. I will want it re-trimmed so that's next years plans along with outriggers.

So my never Ending Cerb Project list is still massive the drive for the perfect car is becoming a chore, I will plod on each winter taking a crack at it. smile

I am still paying for last winters jobs list!!

But I might be up for helping you get the engine out (dates permiting) as I have never done it before and would be good to see what is involved!! or I could make the tea take some pictures and generally just get in the way!!

Just off the top of my head.

Reseal cam cover.
Check valve clearances
New oil cooler
New oil pipes
Replace alarm siren ( again )
Head light upgrade
Steering wheel re trim
Refurb wish bones
Return chassis to original silver
Oil change to diff and 6 k service
Swap over to 4.5 induction.

I'm sure there's more I need to do, but that's enough for the time being

Loads of busy Cerb owners this winter then by the looks of things smile

Not a problem George i am thinking about starting later next week as i am having a roller garage door fitted tomorrow afternoon as i can not use my engine crane with my up and over door, can not get the height to lift and pull it clear. A hand is always good so i don't scratch the body when i lift it, thanks for the offer very kind of you.

You know me Adz need something to kill the cold winter days lol

Hi Ukkidd I will post more details up as my father is dealing with the clutch slave, He is a mechanical engineer who works for a drive shaft and hydraulic company so he can source seals in any size for any fluid application and he has built my higher spec cylinders in tougher heat soak environments than a cars gear box.

Pick up from TVR Central after full bare metal ( fibre? ) respray in Grigio Avalon + Spiders and HID upgrade...

...drop off at TVR Power for a 12k + Tappets Service. And order new carpets for Jan interior spruce.

Go home, weep uncontrollably at bank statement.

Take ML55 ( Winter toy ) out for drive, fill up with Petrol... weep some more.

I did find an alternative material for the seals which are suited to very harsh environments, however, I need to get some STD seals/remove my slave before I can potentially take it any further..

Going to see her Friday, she's stripped of all paint doors, bonnet etc... Last pic before she went in. ( PH'ers may recognise her. Was previously owned by another PH'er who it seems had a very angry ex girlfriend... well he claims it was a local youth but that's some damage! )
