I have never had any problems with my 4.2 Cerb, used it almost every day since i bought the car, but now the car has been standing still for 2weeks, without any driving, and when i tried to start it to day, it wold not start, there was power so the starter went but it wouldnt start, any ideas, guess I have to call AA.... but if anyone has a similar experience there would be nice to know what this could be...

thanks

Very common problem when not used for a while.
Could be anything...

When you turn her on, before ignition... do you hear the fuel pump starting up?

What voltage is your battery reading?
Maybe you just need to bang the battery on a charger - and if she dont hold the charge, get a new battery...

Maybe your engine has seized up - I hope not

Is your MIL buzzer going crazy?

Was she parked in a garage, or outside?
Been raining heavy?

I'll stop there, basically could be anything... do a little investigation and get back on here, Joo might be able to help you out, but need more info...

Oh and also check that no fuses are blown, check the fuse box in your boot...

I agree with SXS - it could be a number of things, so need more info really. What exactly happens when you try to start her?

Yes I will investigate further, i tried to start i yesterday, and it started and the rpm falled until it stopped runned for about 15sec, then i tried to start it again 5-6 times but no luck, tried again today, it almost started at the first push at the button, but no luck today either, power voltage is ok, I can hear the starter runs, but the engine want fire/ignite i just keeps trying to start, i dont want to push the starter or the battery much more, since I am afraid of getting stuck with no more power again to close the vindows, and activate the alarm. The car has been parked outside yes, and there has been some raining here, but that has not been any problem before....

As SXS has already mentioned; does fuel pump come on.

I'd check for a loose/blown fuse in the fuse box. I had this problem, and it was a loose fuse.

dito, I had a similar problem recently when just cut out on me while driving. It was a case of just ensuring all fuses pushed in and wiggling a few wires behind fuse box, thats how technical it got. was still beyond me though having only had it a few weeks, luckily someone knew what they were doing.

You should also check the emer fuel cutout switch in the boot.....

It sits up on the back wall above the fuel tank, sounds like it could be the cause of your problem.

This is a handy trip switch to throw when you're leaving the car for a while....

No start today either, checked the fuses but could not find any bad ones, thinking of calling the AA, is it so that they will bring the car to a authorized TVR garage? I live in London near BigBen anybody know which TVR dealer is nearest? thanks
