Well she's off to see Andy at APM, has a long journey from Aberdeen to Hampshire!

Andy comes highly recommended on PH so looking forward to having her back with a new lease of life in time for spring (although not looking forward to the bill!)

Also what are my best options with regards to new suspension set-up? Need it to be as cost effective as possible what with everything else being done!

There's alot of owners running protects. I'm one of them.

But I would buy the best you can afford.

What are you having done?

As for suspension, I've got the Nitrons on mine and the ride is superb, glides over all but the really really rough stuff. I have GGP's on the Chimaera and while they are very good the Nitrons are another league altogether.

They are very nice! How much for a set of those?

I'm having the engine rebuilt as something has gone at the bottom end (not sure what as of yet).

Nothing gone through the block so I'm hoping its just lower crank shells,

1,200 of your finest British pounds sir.

Uprated the springs slightly, as APM's opinion is the standard are too soft, but many on here will have diff opinions about the ratings!

I'll be totally honest, what with a rebuild and Christmas that's out of my price range.

Any recommendations on the lower end of the scale? (search function is down at the mo)

I have nitrons on eibach springs I would really hold off for them if you can. I ran gaz on my old chim and hate them as well as failing on me within 50 miles out the box the ride was crashy. And that was with a geo set up. They also squeek over every bump.

Whilst the engine is out, I'd also consider a pump refresh or at least upgrading the woodruff key to the drive shaft. Not sure if Andy does the woodruff key as a standard item, but I decided to strip & refurb the whole assembly.

How much extra was the upgrade on top of your standard rebuild?

Pretty cheap, but Andy could tell you in about 5 seconds! Full oil/water pump strip & rebuild, is more like £400.

Spoken to the AA and she is still in transit, apparantly she has been swaped over a few times, not very keen on the idea of someone taking her on and off the back of a lorry wthout me being there to make sure the exhausts and front end arent being damaged.
