While my engine is out I'm looking to get the rocker and front covers painted, was going to go for Red, and Andy has said purple looks good.

Anyone have any picture of a AJP painted up?

What i have done with mine up till now. Engine and box will be out very soon only the front mounts holding it in, Need to modify my engine crane a little to reach in first then its out when i get home. Lot's of new stainless bits getting added and the paint will also be in hand biggrin

Any way crackle red rocker covers and alternator, Pearl white air box's and gold throttle bodys's with purple hoses. nuts I love it mental like a TVR should be but that is my taste not for every one. smile

Will only be touching up black and stainless not any more colour going in there hehe

That looks good as well, very classy look.

Think I'm going to go for red in the end, Gray's looks amazing and I'm thinking of getting a full car wrap in Mat red next year, not to everyone's taste I know, but I think it will look good!

Thanks

And I agree with you regarding the snakepit.
It stops the oil getting blasted into the airbox but I think it spoils the look of the engine.

I'll have to have a rethink over winter.

Are those the ACT water rails? They look great. I wrapped my manifolds too, made a huge difference to underbonnet temps....

Just stumbled on this whilst browsing. I have my AJP out at the moment and I am considering paint scheme. Whats the longevity of this stuff on the engine? Am I better keeping it original and not risking the paint coming off? What sort of paint is required for the block, sump etc, presumably the rocker and timing covers are powder coated?

So many questions - any tips or other pictures out there?
Cheers
Ian

And yet I decided on something a bit different.. laugh

Powdercoated cam/timing covers/fuel rail..

I think proper paint will survive the block ok.. A lighter colour is good for spotting leaks..
