today a hideous quantity of water in the drivers side only, possibly an 1.5" in places, the only clue was that the door pannel, the part that holds the speaker made of a veleur substance, was soaking wet in in a diagonal line disecting the speaker fron the side to floor.

i have already had the door seals professionally replaced as well i think they silconed the pedal holes.

any suggestions other than a snorkel , regards

Hi Fubar Sounds

I copied this from a TVR bulletin a few years back. I did post it on another thread but in case you missed it, here you go:

A list of water ingress points on the front offside on the Cerb.

1. The grommets which the throttle cable, water temperature capillary tube brake servo hose pass through
2. Clutch master cylinder cover (on the inner front wing)
3. Pedal box securing bolts
4. Brake master cylinder reservoir bolts
5. Bolts securing bonnet stay rod bracket
6. Oil pipe union
7. Scuttle panel securing riv-nut
8. Brake block mounted on toe board
9. Grommets in floor pan
10. Bonnet release shaft
11. Windscreen
12. Bolts securing bonnet lock bracket
13. Door seals
14. Steering column bearing
15. Indicator side repeater

And the nearside footwell........

1. Wiring loom grommet or multiplug connector on early cars.
2. Grommet for wiper motor wiring
3. Wiper motor securing bolts
4. Expansion tank bracket securing bolts
5. Heater pipes
6. Battery tray securing bolts
7. MAP sensor pipe (barometric pressure pipe from rear l/h airbox)
8. Rivnut for scuttle panel
9. Windscreen
10. Door seals
11. Grommets in floorpan
12. Indicator side repeater

Hope it helps you

It was the screen seal amongst others that leaked in my old cerb. as it also dripped off the rear view mirror in really bad weather! If you drive fast enough it should all shoot backwards and find it's way out through the various openings there!

The Master cylinder cover is the largest one so go for that first. what I did on mine as i had to keep topping up the fluid was a bead of mastic around the edge to redirect the water away.

I'm following this with interest as I have the same problem and I've also replaced the door seals which has made it a bit better but not much. My last cerb was dry as a bone; this one is more like a mobile paddling pool.....

If you are fitting door seals you have to make sure you bang them home hard especially into the corners. Don't just push them home tap them with a soft hammer.

as i stated earlier the door seals were replaced by bespoke so they were no issues with them, but the black plastic guard at the bottom front inside of the window needed to sealed , the water had been pouring thru it and leaking out the door pannel around my speaker , also there was a crack between 2 bolt s on by the pedal area , but i dont think much was coming thru that.

My first Cerb used to leak big time, and in the end I just accepted it as none of my fixes worked. My second Cerb that I now have , does not leak at all!

I think that just bearing in mind that They all do that Sir or at least most of them is the best answer.
On my Dax that I built I solved the problem by drilling holes in the floor pan. Mind you that did not have roof!

after a couple of rainy days , i can confirm its been a relative success , as in there isnt inches of water washing about , but the carpet is still damp although mayb it has nt had time to dry properly but i suspect its still suffering a minor leak, after the extremes i have witnessed i m really not worried about it . as i read else where before it s definetly not worth being a perfectionist and owning a tvr .

I'd ensure you get rid of all that old water/dampness or you are going to have moisture issues eg rotting carpets, misted windows, black spot on leather and knackered electrics.
A hair dryer should help shift it??

A group of words I never thought I would ever see together.

Hair dryer and cerbera!

Go for a long drive with the heater on is a far better solution.

Lift the front mats out and let them dry thoroughly before putting them back. While the carpets are out you can see if water is returning to the footwells.
