Slave fixing is finally underway.. Whilst my chassis is all naked and exposed, I think it'd be a plan to have a quick tickle to clean and repaint, it looks tbh, just a few areas of damaged powdercoat.

What would you use to clean/treat/paint in this scenario?

POR15 has a good rep, I've used it (one stage only) on the chassis rails near the manifolds and it has worn well in the short term.

I bought something last year & its really very good, here's the splurge on it:

Aquasteel rust converter and primer - what can I use it for?
suitable for the treatment of car rust engines and chassis rust prevention as well as a rust primer.

gives protection against future corrosion and rust thus inhibiting new rust spots

Aquasteel will deal with rusty sea platforms and is used in many MOD applications.

It is suitable for metal hull treatment , rusty sea legs,

pontoons and bridges

it may also be used on cast iron repairs,

DIY

pithead gear

silos,

tank linings, electrical equipment

radio masts
power stations

gerradiuk - How much did you used? 1L is good for 12m^2.. Was thinking 2.5L would do it?

jhono: I ordered a 2.5 & a 1 ltre pack I still have about 3/4 ltre & that's with me going over a few bits in the year after jacking it up without pads at some point.
2.5 should be enough.
