Had a great day yesterday driving to Oxford and back in the pouring rain, standing water etc...

Left the Cerb to dry out before I put it back in the garage, about 3 hours and the clutch worked fine but made a funny noise, then worked fine without the noise like "Yeaowahhieeeee!" or could have been "Yaeeghyyeaghaeee!".

Was it the wet, something that just needed cleaning off? Or something that I need to worry about? Anyone else ever had this?

I've tried doing a search for "Yeaowahhieeeee" and "Yaeeghyyeaghaeee", but nothing comes up. Must be a first.

Did you run over the cat?

Regarding the downpour yesterday, I've recently changed from nearly new toyo proxes on 16" rims, to nearly new Bridgestone SO2s front and S03s rear on 17" rims. Harsher ride, similar performance in the dry, but the Bridgestones are much better in the wet, no aquaplaning even in the biggest puddles.

The noise could have been Yahahischreeee! Is there any refrence for this?

On the tyre front I've got SO3s all round and they were fine, it was the diesel BMW estate that flashed me to move out of the middle lane because this was his only opportunity to pass a Cerbera "EVER" by driving like a complete "ar******" in what looked like an inch of standing water and 100 yards visibility!

Should I go out and look for BMW estates tonight, while checking my screach has gone, to humiliate them on his behalf? Or am I being childish?

Taking a lesson from the thread "Did he know?"

I walked in to the garage last night, put the light on so that Cerbie had some warning. 5 minutes later I sat down on a chair facing the bonnet and explained that if I heard that noise again and it was serious then Cerbie would have to stay in the garage a long time as there was no money left in the maintenance fund. The consequences of which is no humiliating lesser vehicles and no track day at Castle Combe.

I left Cerbie for a further ten minutes to contemplate what I said, went back in opened the garage door, got in and pressed the starter, fired up first time, pressed the clutch, engaged reverse and........no noise. Out on the road, no noise so as a reward I went to find some performance vehicles to humiliate and a great evening was had by all.

When I got back, Pam asked me to keep the car out of the garage as the tumble dryer (which sits at the back of the garage) drum was rubbing on the casing making a terrible graunching noise like Yeaowahieeeschrei and a man was coming to fix it tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
