Hello everybody
When i press the button to make the water jets to clean the front windscreen, nothing happens.

The wipers are moving, bat i can't hear no more the pump running. I think that when i was operating it before, i was heraing a pump's sound...

I've checked of course if there was water in the bottle !!!!!

Is there a special fuse to check ?

This kind of breakdown is well known ? This pump can go down like this ?

I need some help cause there was quite big snow in France ; the roads are now dry and i would love to use my car !

Many thanks for helping me !

Jay

Hi Jaydom, I had the same problem - issue was the ribbon cable, replaced and all OK.

Or the tube for the water from the bottle to the jets has perished - try along the left side of the engine just below the battery.

Check the washer tube has not melted through on the exhaust manifold.

The spade connectors onto the bottle itself were falling apart on mine, so I crimped a new set on. Also changed the complete washer tube, & added a non return valve into the line

Many thanks for your help

It was only the tube that was totaly melted against the exhaust...

So i change the route of the new tube i've fixed : i put it on the right of the engine insted of the left as i thought there was more space to fix it and quite "far" from the exhaust.

But, really, what an "hard" job to find the issue...

Taking off the up and down panels easy but so long !), taking of the short induction pipes on the right side to take off the panel... Changing the tube... Find a way... And finally, to avoid connectors and cheap fixing, taking off the right front wheel to access to the bottle and pump to fix directly the tube...

For a little part at 5€... Maybe 3 hours of work !

But, i take the opportunity to clean the body... And it's nearly like new now !

Maybe that's why we love these cars as they are hard to seduce and to maintain...

It is very funny when I look back now. When I first had the car, I thought that taking the 'F1' panel off was such a huge task.
I think I could do it blindfold now whilst preparing Sunday dinner, ironing 4 shirts and knocking one out to Cara Brett. wink

It is a huge task, unless the cut out for the fan is modified somewhat to allow for easier removal.

Also, only affects early cars as the later ones have a flat panel that looks like it pops straight out.

It's not difficult to remove all the panels. But only very, very long !
I was thinking about to cut the part which is under the induction pipes to avoid the screw on the right side that is impossible to manipulate until taking of the induction pipes...
But, i won't do it cause i prefer to let the Cerbie as original.
