I would say it is putting off what will be inevitable.
Mine was cracked a few years ago, got the ACT balanced system which released a bucket load more power and a noise that just can't be described. I have managed to crack one of the manifolds in a weld on this but even after a couple of years it was replaced by ACT FOC even though it was very repairable, top service!

I will continue to have mine repaired until they become impractical to fix. A weld is always cheaper than a new manifold (if you're doing the R&R yourself).They do start to 'splay' somewhat over time, so that definitely doesn't help, but you simply have to price it up. New parts rarely add value, but they certainly add cost.
