Ahhhh, some muppet has reversed into the door of my car. Not done a lot of damage but has creased and cracked the top of the door. The muppet has admitted and owned up to it and has agreed to pay repair bill. Its not even on the road yet and was parked up at the garage... However at least I'm not going to miss driving it whilst it gets repaired. Think its off to Harrogate to get sorted.
I found it difficult to be too annoyed when a woman hit my Jag while it was parked and left her details. I think it was more to do with the lack of integrity people generally have these days and me being grateful that I was hit by a rare decent sort of person. Nevertheless, it's always a bit of a p155er having your pride and joy damaged by someone else's accident. I hope the repair you get it up to standard

I believe it is. My concern is that the sides were evenly speckled / aged with stone chips, I don't want a new perfect door to look out of place and stand out like a sore thumb, but I am also very realistic and I don't expect a full re spray. Think it will be will be tricky to get the right balance so it looks natural.
Really bad luck.The positives with fibreglass is that it can be repaired much more easily than metal as long as you have the skills. That will come back fine.
The only downside is that it sometimes masks the damage until its inspected as it springs back, when someone dragged their Volvo across my rear wing it initially didn't look much more than cosmetic damage when it came to be repaired it became apparent the whole rear wing had been pushed in but it had sprung back out. Something like that might account for some deflection in the window guides in your door causing the gap.

Ok, feeling a bit better tonight. Went to see the car today and met Chris, really nice gent and spoke a lot of sense. We walked and talked around the car, I did start talking some rubbish but after a quick drive to make sure other issues had been sorted I came to my senses, went back to Chris and confessed he was right. Repair process agreed and to be finished off with a good minty polish, now waiting for the result.
A major bonus is that all parties involved are communicating and agreeing at a similar level of expectation. Makes life much easier.
Hopefully get the car back a week on Saturday, fingers crossed. Watch this space.

Oh happy days, 1st of the month, tax disk in hand I collected my car from Knaresborough yesterday afternoon. Chris has done an amazing job the car looks stunning, both sides now too. Had my first proper drive since buying it in December and I cannot stop grinning like a cheshire cat. Drove home via back roads, a few friends and a couple of tunnels in Leeds so now getting to know its characteristics and where it likes to be driven. And the sound oh the sound in those tunnels. Needless to say I'm a happy bunny and guess what the sun is out again today so away we go again, family in tow today. Happy days indeed. Long may they continue!
