Whats it worth ?
Discussion
Evening all,
I am trying to put a value on my car but not finding it easy because i am bias
Its a 98 4.5 redrose running 4.2 induction with 34,000 miles.Unfortunately its a cat D (v small engine bay fire) its rosso pearl (usual fading) has a good chassis near mint interior, new gaz golds, diff, rad, tyres,Original lights all round and spiders.
Any thoughts most welcome,
Matt

There are no 4.5 Cerbs being offered for less than £13k at the moment, so add RR, subtract the (presumably historical) Cat D, add lowish mileage, subtract 4.2 induction, and you probably arrive at an asking price iro £15k, assuming decent interior and paint. If it looks good underneath then add another £2k or so.
Will it fetch that asking price? I've no idea, but surely that would be the way to pitch it?
I wouldn't pay that myself, but I'm not in the market for a high end Cerb.

Wow so a non cat d and 4 yr newer with every penny spent on it is only worth a 'bit' more? Seems a generous quote? I might have been a little pessimistic...?!Will it fetch that asking price? I've no idea, but surely that would be the way to pitch it?

I did say asking price.Nevertheless the entry price for a 4.5 seems to be £13k at the moment, this one seems slightly higher than that baseline. I paid half that for my 4.5, but I don't think that is possible right now.

Sounds like £9995 on the PH Classifieds to me.
I'll defer to an expert in car sales...I am a bit confused by the description, is it badged 4.5? If so why the 4.2 induction? I presume 98 is too early to be a 4.2 badged car with a large displacement engine. What's on the V5 will make a difference, as there are definitely 4.5 buyers who will not be considering or comparing it with 4.2 or 4.0 cars.
Thankyou for your responses. Just to clear a couple of things up,It is a 4.5 with redrose conversion.I had the 4.2 induction conversion done because it gives better throttle response than the std 4.5 set up. All the work was done by Automedon (Nemasis on here). Thanks again for your comments.
