Thought I'd give the inside of the Cerb a quick buff off with leather cleaner and conditioner this afternoon and noticed the heater control panel is very loose. Pretty much to the point of almost falling out - assume the lecky cables are holding it in. I tried just gently pushing back in but no resistance.
How does the veneer panel attach to the dash - just push in, cunning TVR screw device or just plain old glue?

Tips and advice appreciated.

I think it's held on by two nuts (sounds like yours have fallen off) but they are not easy to get to. I wanted to take mine off to change the ac led for a brighter one, but gave up trying to get at those nuts. Good luck!

OK thanks, nothings easy is it?
Are the bolt threads top and bottom or left and right on the panel?

I want to say L/R, but I'd be guessing. Get a torch and have a look smile

Left and right. The bolts hold a bent strip of aluminium that presses against the back of the fibreglass surround. Try not to drop the nuts if you take them right off as they are tiny and an old BA size - at least they were on mine.

yep another quality fixing solution!! smile there is some small studding glued to the back of the facia plate and a couple of metal tabs held on by 2 small nuts.

if its already off then probably best to pull it out totally and have a rummage around the inside to find the nuts, they'll be in the fibreglass ledge/bowl thingy on the inside of the dash somewhere, you'll probably drop them at least twice when putting them back on so you'll know where i mean before long.
you'll need to now practice your yoga and fumbling in the dark skills to get it back on! with your face pressed up against the steering wheel, put your hand up behind the dash by the bonnet release and feel for the studding and position the metal tabs so they lock behind the inside of the dash, do the nuts up and hey presto!

not a hard job just really fiddly
