Hi cleaned car last week and noticed i have about six small paint blisters on rear quater panel and loads on front of bonnet was wondering what would cause those to show up now have had the car 15 months now it lives outside under a breathable car was wondering if it was a result of poor previous paintwork any ideas thanks

It is caused by moisture in the fibreglass I believe.

I am pritty certain my will not polish out as the blisters are raised above the paintwork so only solution is some new paintwork always the way happens at the wrong time

Had the same issues on mine after I used a cover which got wet. As soon as I stop using it and after some dry weather the pimples went away. Actually I'd forgotten I had this problem until I read the post.

Mine is never under a cover, always garaged, and the pimples seem to be spreading down the front wings. It rarely gets wet, I've probably only washed it twice as well.

I've sent mine to boarding school for chassis cleaning along with painting and a nice refurbed steering rack fitted.

When its back its going into a car tent rather than a cover.

I have a car tent ...cats love ,nice warm bonnet away from the blowing wind ,worse still if you on gravel as there little bitty paw prints all over it !!

Another good one which did make me go cross eyed when it happened.

After the snow had gone I strolled out to see the it, lifted it back & while I stood there I heard clip, clip!?? Where the the snow had lifted the gravel up onto the front of the canvas it had frozen ,now I had disturbed it & it thawed out it was dropping onto the bonnet from about 6' clip ,clip, ping!!!!!!!!!!!

I may go back to a cover & then worry again about chaffing paint when its blowing a gale & trying to cover it in wind + when wet...nah I'll just stick with it & let my dogs round the front.Lol

The tent is as hard as nails with an external frame and a sewn in ground sheet. So good I might go on holiday in it smile

I have a 18'x 7'
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Perambulator-Portable-Ga...

Its Ok I have 5 10mm rebar hooks that have managed to hold it down through all this & last years gales etc.
The good thing about these is when its soaking wet pop it in & as it lets the wind in from the bottom & out the top its dry pretty quick.
The downside (for me) after I spent 1 1/2 hours washing & polishing the car & it looks like a new pin. I have gravel/pebble drive & ofcourse silly me, next day open it up to go out & YAY! 1 dusty car ... Ok ,Ok not high on I.Q. I guess only the once...

Interesting to have read this as I use a cover on the Tuscan to save chronic water ingress into the footwells. Seems like we can't win either way!

Not quite the same, but I noticed my roof once had a mark on it & gradually small black spots appeared around it.

I took it to the paint shop & their theory was, that the car had been parked under a ramp & the car above had most likely spilt brake fluid on to mine.

At the time, it spent that much time under ramps, it was somewhat of a certainty smile
