Usally aftermarket alarms have all same colour wiring i.e all black.

I think it makes it harder to bypass the alarm if all wires are the same colour.

As for the unit I cant help, try operating electric components with it unpluged and see if anything does not work???

I've got one that looks the same, same amount of cables and same colours. It just says Part No 12v HP12.

Although your cables are in different positions to mine.

Mickk can you tell me what colours go where or a photo if possible ?
No after market alarms, this thing is old as the car. The car used to have a CD multi player/changer from new but that's gone, possibly for that? The two red cables far right are heavier amperage cables than the rest, the rear red cable is a permanent live feed.

The door solenoid does not budge now ,took it off gave it 12v direct not a peep, so I guess its finished ?

I can get you a pic tomorrow if you still need it but looking at it from the front facing the label

left side front is black.
left side rear is green
front middle is red
rear middle is blue and yellow
and right side is the same as yours

I did have a multi changer as well so perhaps that's what it did.

Mickk You are an Officer,a scholar & a gent to bootbow! Note oneself do not blindly tug on hidden black boxes you've never seen before !!

Ok So all this seems to be because I changed the battery over & the door solenoid appears to have packed up. So to summarise.
Took door card off, separated & cleaned all connectors, put back , used magnet & window went up, used again light came on as window dropped to level.
Press inside or outside button = window drops interior light comes on door stays shut, press/hold either button & the Window/door ECU pulses but dead as a Dodo at the solenoid, so take out said solenoid connect to 12v power zero!

One query can the cage be used as an earth when testing circuits ?

I have the 6cd changer so yes it could be for that but my knowledge on electrics is wiring a plug only.

Thanks Cber & to all you guys, much appreciated thumbup

So the long& the short of it is, you can fit a 75Ah 0906 battery to the car but if your as clumsy as me you blow the door solenoid & mix up wires on unknown mysterious boxes that you never knew existed !!biggrin

Right now off to bugger up the Diesel ,I'm blanking the EGR off Ho ho ho ...looks like it might be the bus for a few days ahead rolleyes

The box is part of the dip/dim circuit, when you put the side lights on the dip beams come on at half voltage so you end up with 4 bulbs lit .It is something Volvo invented .they can fail so dip beam is at 6 volts.
