New Gaz Gold Professional! Anyone got the settings?
Discussion
Well after having a new engine fitted (big thanks to Andy at APM)it was time to sort the suspension, so I got myself some Gaz Gold Pro's that should be with me next week.
Looking forward to getting them on and sorting the handling out!
Does anyone have any good fast road settings for these?

Spend a little extra and go for the Nitrons ,especially with your cerbera .. it deserves Nitrons . You will regret it in the long run !Looking forward to getting them on and sorting the handling out!

I don't track my Cerb, and having just spent 50% of the value of my Cerbera on a new engine etc Nitrons weren't an option.Gaz gold pro's are a big upgrade from my seized leaking AVO's!
Gaz golds have a good reputation as far as I'm aware, especially the new pros.

Well regardless of peoples opinion on what is/isn't a lot of money, I've made my decision on these after lots of research, I appreciate that Gaz had problems with the original design due to cracking, but the new Pro's are (by all accounts I can find) a great setup.
Does anyone actually have an answer to my question? These should be delivered to me tomorrow and I'm keen to get some good base settings before I fire them on.

My advice would be to set it up best guess and take it straight to a specialist for a full geometry and ride height set up. Dreadnaught should be able to do this for you. I have used them before and the car drove really well after set up they have some great kit. I don't know of any one else in the country who can set a Cerb up as well every one else is down south.
I got PRO's on my Chim, rock hard! With the race spring rate there not great at slow speeds. If you are only using on the road I'd ask for a lower spring rate, If you fancy the track there probably ok but I've yet to find out! On the whole I'm happy with them but wished I'd waited and got the nitrons!
I have the gaz pros on mine. Mines purely for fast road. Have yet to go on track.
I'm more than happy.
I set mine more towards the hard side but keep meaning to go a couple of clicks softer. Set the ride height slightly higher. Should allow the suspension to settle. Then play with how hard or soft you want on the damping.

No idea about Gaz as I've nitrons but unless your flying around at warp factor on the road I doubt you will tell that much of a difference and they maybe 100% what you need.
Just get them set up properly and enjoy. Sorry but I don't have the settings you require but I'm sure your garage will.

Before you take them off, check how level the car is first. When mine where first fitted, the height adjusters were all over the place the get everything level. It all settled down after a couple of hundred miles and I had a full set- up done then and have been very pleased with them.
Regarding the settings, start near the middle and set the front a couple of clicks firmer than you have on the rear and take it from there . Making it softer/firmer on the front and/or rear as suits after driving

Brett,
They really need to be set up on the car, ride height should be setat about 135mm clearance between the ground and the rear of the out rigger, about 125mm to the front outrigger.
I would set the dampers at the mid point on the rear and a couple of clicks harder on the front to allow for the engine weight and the harder springs that are fitted to the front.
If this feel good then OK if not adjust a couple of clicks at a time in whatever direction you think is correct.
If you find on hard cornering the feeling of the car giving then gripping again as if the road is rippled (this seems to be a trat of the Cerb's) then they are to soft so harden up a couple of clicks and try the corner again and repeat until you get the settings right for maximum grip and then enjoy.

To me GAZ Gold are fine up to german motorway work. Have them at 11 ticks front and 13 ticks rear, but the standard (to low) spring rate rear.
Hope this helps to start with
Cheers
Carl

: I don't track the car do only fast road and I didn't have the opportunity to exceed 175mph yet. So this statement does not cover race track or top speed conditions. Furthermore since I purchased the car in summer 2011, I didn't have the geometry checked.
