Not the swimming trunk type, but the one that tells you how fast you are goingbiggrin

Last time I drove my car the speedo was not working under 40 mph, above it looked like it was fine but below the needle was bouncing around and then stopping altogether. The car hadn't moved in about a month and I was wondering if this might have had something to do with it. I haven't driven it since but if time allows I'll take it out later for a spin.

At a guess, I would change the big fuse and check the gapping on the speedo transducer. Mine isn't happy below 20mph, but I can't be arsed to get underneath and check it.

Check the gap on the speedo sensor. It's bracketed to the diff at the back on the drivers side. You want to adjust it to have minimum clearance to the toothed wheel. A sheet of 80gsm copier paper is about the right thickness.

Yes, but if you have any runout on the diff then you'll crash the sensor and it will fail.

That's why it is good practice to always check/set a gap at the tightest point and check it by turning the wheel by hand.

It will be the sensor on the diff, if it was working, now it isn't then its failed.
TVR Power has them in stock, set it to touch at the tightest point and come back a fag paper.
