My Cerb has developed a mind of it own with the aircon and fan motors - all seems ok without the engine running but once you start her up, both hot and cold fans start on their own and the red and blue backlighting goes off. The aircon seem to be the source of the problem as the blus light flickers with the engine but the relay is clicking away happily....any ideas?
Thanks in advance
Graham

I had some non-functioning with my heated rear window and mirrors. The problem was a broken resistor in the heater control box.

This is located down in the passenger footwell with the ECU. Might be worth unpluging this and cleaning the connections.

Thanks Simon I will have a look at that....I disconnected the clutch of the aircon today and it seems to have cleared the on/off fans but the cool fan has gone off for good. I am going to get the aircon re-gassed today to see if that helps.
It was a warm drive back from Cardiff with all that lovely hot air

Well...Got it sorted last night thanks to the tip Simon.
The heater control box in the passenger footwell had freed itself from its velcro and the ribbon connector was half in/half out. This explains the fans/lights/aircon doing their own thing as the connector decided if I should be hot or cold!
Re-plugged the connector and now have fully working heater controls. The aircon re-gass has restored icy cold air also.
Good job I didn't need the aircon all summer :-(
Thanks again.
