I've been having issues with my wipers, in that they only worked for the first 3 hours of driving and have refused to work since! I've had the motor fixed and the motor turns, but if I attach the cable to the motor, nothing happens. The cable itself seems a bit bent, no doubt has a lot to do with my ham-fisted attempts at trying to force them back to their right position on that dark, rainy night!

So, I was looking at this as a replacement for the bent one.

How is the black plastic cover surrounding the cable removed? It has 2 bolts in the front, but one removed, there doesn't seem to be any obvious way other than using force.

I would really like to solve this and then see about adding some spray tubes.

Thanks

I decided to go get dirty biggrin

Pulled the airbox off, and all of the stuff around the wiper motor and the wipers themselves, and ran the motor with a disconnected cable. The spindle turned just fine. So, I removed wiper motor from the firewall and connected the cable. Lo and behold, once I held it tight against the black box, the wiper nuts started to turn. To say I am happy is quite an understatement! I guess it was just bad alignment. Have to get a proper window washing system as it has melted on the manifolds, but once I charge the battery, I think those wipers are going to be just fine!

Nice work! Always good when you can fix it yourself.
