I was just wondering if anyone here has tried TerraClean on their Cerbera or any TVR in general.

I've read mixed reviews about it and a part of me is curious to find out what effect if any it might have on my speed six, I just don't want to the guinea pig on this one.

Cheers,

Rich

It's a decoking process which steam cleans your engine while it's running. Edd China seemed to like it.

Over on the Jaguarforums a lot of the diseasal boys seem to like it, but some on higher milage cars have finished their engines off when they removed the carbon which appeared to be acting as sealing surfaces etc. Some engines have started smoking and burning excessive oil after removing the carbon that apparently was helping. You could argue that the Terraclean merely uncovered underlying wear, but nevertheless the engines ran ok before and not after cleaning. On the stronger engines they have had measureable improvements in emissions, but as far as I can see no real benefit beyond how clean the engine runs. They haven't become smoother, more powerful or more economical - just cleaner.

Your choice.

Finest python extract (combined with detergents etc) best applied at the end of a 40 foot barge pole.

Was at the TGA open day in Wolverhampton on Sunday who are now agents for Terraclean.
A Cerbra was being done, and Pre treatment, the hydrocarbons figure was in excess of 2500ppm, way in excess of MOT limit. After the treatment, the figure was around 400ppm, a significant improvement.
I also had my Griff done whilst there which improved the CO2 figure somewhat, my hydrocarbons figure was very low anyway, so no real improvement there. Didn't really notice any difference on the drive home, and will see next time I fill up if its made any difference to the mpg.

Unlike most snake oils, Terraclean is proven to actually do something. It's just not neccessarily something beneficial.

They all say that, sir wink (Hence my mention of added detergents in with the snake.)

However your point of how beneficial the effects are long term would be why it would never go near an AJP that I owned. Its not hard to temporarily reduce emissions, enough methanol will do the trick, but doing it without long term damage is a different matter.

Well my Cerb hasn't self combusted because of having a terraclean ....
The rather high emissions are well down and the AJP is running smoother, what is there not to like? wink

Hi Nigel, hope your Griffs still in fine fettle !!
