We have electricity !!!

Well after all of your help and lost of head scratching my end .... turns out that the 12v feed that excites the alternator had in-fact split inside the protective sleeve so all tested its producing a healthy 14.6v at idle.

And yup you guessed it, i only found this out when i was taking the wire off to fit the new alternator i had just bought !!!

The battery light still doesnt come on on the dash though, even though the bulb is fine, any ideas on this one guys its got me stumped, as everything else is working fine?
