Cooling system questions please

Sorry all but I don't post on here very often, but I've learnt an awful lot from the wisdom of you guys over the years (I've owned my Cerbera since 1998!)

I've fitted new hoses to my car and cleaned and painted the metal coolant pipes, and removed the 2 sender units. I have 2 questions please.

1. When removing the ECU sender, it appears to have been sealed with PTFE tape. Should I refit similarly, or use a sealant of some kind?

2. Does the capillary pipe sender have a washer fitted at the base? After removal I found a washer and I'm not sure if it was fitted or not.

Shouldn't need any PTFE on the sender, a copper or fibre washer should be enough.

No washer fitted on the capillary.
